Going on Vacation

Well, first I would like to thank everyone who left a comment on my tribute to Pete Townshend. The number of commenters is the most I have ever gotten!

Tomorrow I will be going to Morro Bay for the 4th of July weekend celebrating Independence Day, so I will be gone until Wednesday. Some of you will probably be gone too, but for those who will be blogging this weekend, I have left a bunch of videos on my video blog for you to enjoy until I get back. Feel free to leave comments on them.

I will be back Wednsesday and tell you all about Morro bay!

Enjoy the Weekend!

I almost forgot, It has been 4 years since John died and 28 years since Keith died. I want to take this moment to remember them both. I had just finished reading Moon-The Life and Death of a Rock Legend. Very good book, but very sad. Keith was like a shooting star that burned so bright but fizzled out too quickly. John died after I was just getting to know The Who at that time. I became a fan after seeing The Concert For New York City. I believe that John and Keith are both in Heaven sitting in God's Tavern.

We Still Love You Pete!

I am very sad that Pete had to discontinue The Comedian, now he has stopped taking comments on his blog. :( I'm sure that there was a good reason why he had to. I hope that Pete will have his blog active again when he feels the time is right. I still love him and support what he does. I am going to try to see The Who when they come here to Southern California.
At least we still have his music to listen to and the music videos and concert footage to watch. I have put up the Rough Boys music video on my video blog. So check it out!

Update: I have just added a video of Pete Smashing his last guitar. Also, I apologize to those of you who are still stuck with dial up. I really wish you guys could see the videos really good.

My Best Beach Day Ever!

Zuma Beach, the waves were big and the current was strong that day. Rincon Beach, Tide pools are visible at low tide. Great place for surfing.

I wanted to post this on Monday, but my internet was down.

Monday, I went with my sister and her two friends to Zuma beach. It was fun until the tide came in while me and my sister's friend were tanning. Everything got wet, my towel, my clothes, and we almost lost the icechest. After that, we decided to go to Rincon beach, which used to be a nudist beach in the 60's, but it's not anymore. We stopped in Ventura first to get some ice cream, then we arrived at Rincon. That was fun too, also I found a $20 bill while I was combing the area for seashells. I was able to buy everyone something to eat after we left the beach.
This was the best beach day I ever had in my life because I always want to stay all day long till sunset. Whenever we went with my parents, we would only stay for two to three hours and then it's "OK let's go home now!" This time we got to go to two beaches and stay as long as we wanted. For those who have never been to a beach, I hope you get a chance to go someday. You do get sand everywhere, but the best part is when you go home to take a shower because you come out feeling very clean.

Happy Birthday Paul McCartney!

Now he's 64! Hope he has a good birthday, despite the divorce from the gold digger.

My Two Kitties

From left to right: Ringo & Paul (usually called
Paulie) Yes, I named them after The Beatles.

My cats sleeping on a chair, nuff said.

Both of them are from the same litter and will be five years old, their birthdate was Sept 10, 2001. When we got them from our family friends, I was going through a Beatles phase which is why they are named after them. Plus, the black & white cat has a black spot on his nose, so I figured the name "Ringo" would be suitable.
When I was younger, I used to name pets after cartoon characters, now it's musicians.

In other news, two more videos have been added to the video blog.

P.S. Noticed I changed my profile picture? Every Friday I am going to change it, featuring a different musician. This will be until I get a good picture of myself.

Beatallica!

Some of you have probably heard of this band, but for those who don't know, here's my little promotion for them.

Do you like both the Beatles & Metallica but you just can't decide which one to listen to first? Well here's a band that sounds like both of them, and that band is: Beatallica! What they do is play Beatles tunes `a la Metallica, spinning the lyrics of both bands into hilarious twisted nonsense. They have songs titled A Garage Days Night, Sgt. Hetfield's Mototbreath Pub Band, and The Thing That Should Not Let It Be.

Since some of you have introduced us to lesser known bands that sound so great, I thought I'd do the same. I left a link to Beatallica's website under the links list, check it out for yourself, whether you like both bands, one of the bands, or neither of em, it's worth a listen. They have two albums done and you can download them for free.

And Now For Something Different.

Well, that's enough of all this drama. I thought I'd post up this funny picture to brighten things up. I didn't draw it, the credit goes to Sheana Molloy. I found it off the website Cobwebs & Strange: Your Place For The Who. There are more great drawings of The Who there. As you can see, I've added that link under the links list.

You also might notice that the names of bloggers are no longer double spaced. I figured out how to fix that, which is great cause now I can add even more names.

Well, that's all I have to say for now. Tell me what you think of this picture!

The Apocalypse of 6-06-06?

Earlier today, I went to see the movie The Omen. I have not seen the original, but from what I heard, there wern't too many changes. The movie was OK. It only had a couple of parts that made me jump out of my seat. Some people believed that this day was going to be the end of the world. 6:06:06 am and pm already passed and we're all still here, so...moving on now.

I just picked up Guitar Legends magazine, which is a special collectors issue because it has many many photos of great guitarists. There are two great pictures of Pete Townshend. I recommend getting this issue.

Happy Birthday James "Munky" Shaffer

He is 36 today. KoRn may have only been around for 12 years, but I believe they will be around for many more years to come.

The curse of tattooing a boyfriend's and/or girlfriend's name

I would like to thank everyone who wished me a happy birthday, it means so much more than presents. Making the tributes to my favorite musicians has been very fun to do, even if they don't see them. There's more to come.

I would also like to thank everyone who gave me advice about my best friend's boyfriend. It may take a while before she sees the light. They both got each other's names tattooed, which is a sign that the relationship will possibly end. My friend did design the tattoo so it can be easily covered when they break up.

Since I got the subject of tattoos started I'll talk about mine. I only have one tattoo right now which is the flame logo of the band Audioslave. Everyone's opinion of band tattoos differ; I believe that getting band tattoos shows a real devotion to that band and that you're a hardcore fan. My second tattoo will be about The Who. Before I get my design idea inked, I give myself about a year to think about it to see if I still like it. It's a good idea, especially if it's your first few tattoos. You have to be careful of these things because what you like now may or may not be what you like in the future. I'm so glad I didn't get inked while going through my musical phases. I have been a fan of Audioslave since 3/4 ths of the band used to be in Rage Against the Machine. I still have no regrets of that tattoo. I feel that I am ready for my next tattoo. I have been a fan of The Who for almost five years now, so I know for sure that they will stick around with me for life. First, I still have to decide what symbol to use that best represents the band.

In other news, I have made great progress in my graphic design job. My supervisor has told me that I have come a long way since I first started. I have been learning as I go, and I now know that professional graphic design is something I want to pursue for a career.

That's all I have to say for now.
