My Dog

As promised, I finally have a picture of my dog, that's my dad holding her. This is Sophie, she's a Jack Russell Terrier. We got her for my mom, but she's become my sister's dog. She's almost two years old now, I guess that would make her a teenager. She is a sweet dog, but she gets jealous of my two cats. She gets along with other dogs, which is good because my sister's best friend usually brings over her dog whenever she comes over. She's full of energy and she has destroyed almost every toy we have given her, no tennis ball is indestructable, not even the kinds made for pets. She likes to tear off that fuzzy green stuff that covers a tennis ball. She also loves playing tug of war with the rope toys. She also played with the soccer ball until she popped it. She now has a tough rubber ball that is so indestructable that not even a pit bull can destroy it. That's the story of my dog.

The Difference Between Having and Not Having My Guitar

The last two days have been horrible! On Sunday I let my best friend borrow my car so she could fit more of her stuff in it. She's still in the process of getting moved in to her new apartment. I stayed at her apartment while she was getting that done. Luckily I had my guitar with me that day and I was able to have a couple of practices. Unfortunately my friend lives in a inconvenient location where there is nothing to do. There's a 7-11 and a couple of Grade B pizza places nearby and that's about it! On Monday, I went back to her place because her boyfriend offered to change the oil in my car as a "thank You" for doing them the favors of driving them around. That was supposed to be the only thing they were supposed to do. Once again I stayed at her apartment while her boyfriend worked on my car. Since I thought I was only going to be there for an hour at the most, I left my guitar at home. BIG MISTAKE! I got bored out of my mind! I must've looked out her window a hundred times hoping I would see my car. They did fix it, but her boyfriend had other plans and went to his mom's house. They got held up there and were there for hours and hours. My friend had plenty of movies there to watch, but I can only watch so many before I get bored. I got frustrated that they took such a long time to get back, which was about 1:30 in the mourning! I was supposed to get back home because I had Ads to work on and I had to force myself to get up early in the mourning to get them done. Of course I could've actually got them done sooner, but that was my fault for putting them off.
Spending two days at my friend's apartment was bad enough, but I do feel sorry for her and her boyfriend who live there everyday. At least he has a job to fill up half the day and my friend will be getting one shortly, but I wondered what else they do to pass the time. My friend told me that they have each other to talk to and they do drawings a lot. I guess the good thing about living in a place where there's absolutely nothing to do at all, it forces you to get creative on finding fun things to do. The whole point I was trying to make is, I'll never go anywhere without my guitar again!

Now there's Thunder, Lightning, and Heavy Rain!

Obviously I've got nothing else to talk about but the weather. Today's was crazy! It was very hot earlier today, then later on, we finally got rain, lots of it! It was literally pouring! We also had thunder and lightning, the most we ever had out here. A small town nearby called Littlerock got 20 lightning strikes in a row!
It was so bad, that we were informed not to use anything electronic , because of the level of danger with this thunderstorm. Now I know why they say not to use the computer either. It survived a power surge, but I should've known better, I could've been electricuted. Some good came out of not using any electronics, I finally got around to practicing my guitar again. I only practiced one song today, which was Until It Sleeps by Metallica. It's a song off the album Load. I'm getting better at it too, and soon I will start practicing Who songs. Well! Looks like I did find something else to talk about after all! I keep you updated on guitar practice, and no more weather reports!

It's Blazing Hot!

The weather has been very hot lately! From what I've read on some blogs, it's been hot everywhere, from here in the USA to Europe. I have the Weather Channel on my computer desktop that gives me the temperature for my area. I got it free when I downloaded the upgrade of Realplayer. Anyways, when I was on the computer around 8:30 or 9 pm, the temperature read 100 degrees farenheit! (or 40 degrees celsious) I'm not kidding!
It's dropped down to 84 degrees as I am typing this post at 11:35 pm, even that is a high temp for this time. Still, summer has it's advantages over winter, at least I'm not freezing, and I can go swimming. Going to the beach is nice too. Then there's the disadvantages, in winter at least you can put on more clothes if you're cold, but in summer you can only take off so much without being naked. I've got all the fans and A/C going, and it's still too hot!

I hope everyone's staying cool!

Movies

I finally saw Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Mans Chest, on Sunday. Now I can confirm that this movie is Excellent! I highly recommend seeing it if you haven't already, or see it again if you have. Johnny Depp looks so hot as a pirate! I know for sure that there is going to be a third movie, in which Keith Richards is going to make a cameo appearance as Jack Sparrow's Dad!

There are other movies that I still want to see, but with ticket prices these days, I usually have to wait until they go to the dollar theater, when I have money to spend, or rent them. I'm also including the genres of movies I like and dislike too.

Movies I want to see:
  • Nacho Libre-I heard if you loved Napoleon Dynamite, you'll love this!
  • Talladega Nights-Will Ferrell's movies are hilarious!
  • The Devil Wears Prada-This looks like a good one.
  • You, Me, and Dupree-Owen Wilson's funny too! Notice a pattern?
  • Comedies-can you tell by my list above? I'll laugh at the stupid little things in them.
  • Action movies-I'm a little picky about these though, it has to have a good plot, not just eye candy.
  • Dramas-movies are the place for that, and not in my life.
  • Music-from biographies to Rock Operas, if it relates to music, I will see it.

Then there's movies I don't want to see:

  • Little Man-My best friend wants to see this and she's going to have to drag me along! This movie looks stupid!
  • The Lake House-This movie looks to damn confusing! Two people who fall in love with each other live 2 years apart? Why doesn' t the one who lives two years ahead wait for the other to catch up with time? My head hurts trying to figure it out!
  • Waist Deep-Guy gets out of prison, wants out of the gangsta life, then daughter gets kidnapped, guy has to get back in to get out. Blah! Blah! Blah! Like the ending isn't hard to figure out!
  • Chick flicks-a few are ok, but I'm the girl that would take my date to an action movie!

Movies I'll end up seeing when my sister and her friends rent them at Blockbuster:

  • The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift-I have never seen any of the three in theaters. All three movies have a lot in common: underground street racing, tricked out rides, and a bunch of hoochies.
  • Horror movies-It takes a lot of guts (no pun intended) to see a horror movie in theaters. I have a weak stomach when it comes to seeing blood and gore, especially if it looks painful.
  • Tearjerkers-Don't get me wrong, most of em are good movies, I just hate when I start crying cause I can cry a waterfall!

Look what my post turned into! It was intended to be just a review of "Pirates" and now it's turned into a list of what movies I like and dislike. At least it's a differant topic from my usual posts!

Hot Male Rock Musician of the Week

Wow! I can't believe how many responses I'm getting for my new profile picture! When I finally learned how to add a profile picture, I thought it would be fun to change it every Friday to feature a different musician. I originally was going to do this until I get a good picture of myself, I might still do that but now I'm having so much fun with this that I'm now making the profile picture the Hot Male Rock Musician of the Week. This is for all us ladies!, and maybe some of you guys too.

What a Day!

First my sister and I find out at the last minute that our dad was having some friends from his work coming over for a BBQ. I had to cancel my other plans I had. The BBQ wasn't bad after all, I met my dad's friend's daughter, even though she's a bit younger than me, we had a lot in common. Afterward, we hung out a bit talking about what music we like. She likes classic rock and heavy metal, like me!
During the BBQ, when I went to change the CD , I discover that my parent's Who compilation album had a crack on one side of the CD. It was my dad's fault because he usually puts the CD's away wrong. I showed them that CD. My mom was upset, but my dad had no reaction. I was still going to play The Who for everybody, so I ran in the house to grab Live at Leeds. My dad was going to put in a 70's mix CD in, but I was like "No! I wanna put this one in!" He took out that CD and I put in LAL. You all know how Live at Leeds has parts where Pete & Roger are talking, well those parts are usually hard to hear from a stereo that's outside. My dad tried to change the CD cause he was waiting for it to end. I had to tell him "No! It's not done yet!" Then he'd sit back down. The second time he tried to take it out, I told him "But this part is the mini opera!" I couldn't stop him at his third attempt, he said he was getting tired of hearing it and wanted to put in one of his compilation albums in. (Can you tell that my dad rarely buys the actual albums of any band?) I know that everybody feels differently about music, especially my dad, but I wish he would be more open minded. He rarely listens to anything new, he just sticks with oldies and some classic rock. Nothing wrong with that, but nothing beats that feeling you get when you first hear a great new song.
Saturday we're going to the Beach again. My dad can listen to whatever he wants cause if it makes him happy, then that's good. At least I have a portable CD player, so I can listen to whatever I want cause that makes me happy. As long as everyones happy, it's all good!

Four More Videos!

Does anybody remember the show Mystery Science Theater 3000? It used to air on the Sci-Fi channel. For those not familiar with it, it is about a guy named Mike Nelson who is forced to watch cheesy movies in a space ship. To make the experience more bearable, he watches the movies with two robots named Tom Servo and Crow, who make fun of the movies by adding their own hilarious lines to them.
The videos I added are of MST3K's summer Blockbuster Movie reviews. They make fun of Armageddon, Deep Impact, Ever After, The Truman Show, and more! If you guys like it, you should head to YouTube and watch some of the episodes of Mystery Science Theater 3000. I recommend "The Deadly Mantis." Unfortunately each episode is in 9-10 parts, but there are shorter films too, such as the old 50's videos.

For all us Who fans, I have also added an old Who interview from MTV. It is from a time when MTV used to play music videos and shows that actually had to do with music 100%. I hope you guys enjoy these videos. Once again, my apologies to those still stuck with dial-up.

Pirates of the Caribbean movie premiere

Tonight is the premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean-Dead Mans Chest. My sister and her friends are all going to the midnight showing tonight, she was actually the first person in line. I'm going to see this movie in a few days. Today I've been the runner for my sister, I've been bringing her food, water, and picking up her friends, and taking them to get their pirate costumes. Oh yes, they are all dressed up as pirates and wenches. It is hot today and they have been waiting for hours and still have many more to go, but I think that the wait will be worth it.

Hopefully if I ever wait in line for anything, she will return the favor by being the runner for food and water.

Update: My sister said this movie is excellent! There will most definately be a third movie. I read in Rolling Stone magazine that Keith Richards will be making a cameo appearance as jack Sparrows dad!

Just to let you guys know, there are three more videos added to the video blog.
