New Years Resolutions 2014

Well here we go again, let's see if I can keep these this year:

  • Eat better food, meaning more "made from scratch" and less "processed" stuff. Cut back on sweets and fast food, or at least modify them to be healthier. Continue with having no soda, if I have cocktails...have the kind that can be made without soda.
  • Cut back on playing "Game of Thrones Ascent", like don't let it become a priority.
  • Finish my fan fictions and try to start a new one.
  • Get more artwork done, at least enough to be able to complete a "Best of 2015" in Deviantart. Update: Do a sketch a day.
  • Try again on keeping my room clean and organized, and when I an cleaning...finish the job all the way through.
  • Don't give up on searching for a job. Build up my network that could help find new opportunities. Do more volunteer work or anything that can help build my resume.
  • Continue to save 10% of my big paydays to my credit union account. Fill all my piggy banks back up with spare change.
I will check on these again in June to see how I an doing.

Resolutions Check-up

Well I did it! I actually managed to do this on time! Of course I wrote it on my calender and today is the end of June.

Since I don't post here often, the resolutions are two posts down. So...here is how i am doing so far.

I have not been exercising very much, however...I have given up soda for good! I only had one a month ago because I wanted to try the vanilla Dr. Pepper. It turns out not to be as good as I thought, so that was it.

The next step now is to stay away from candy. Or at least stop buying the bags of it to stash in my room. I know starting August or September there will be loads of holiday candy from Halloween to Easter. Ugh! That is about 8 months! At least the summer doesn't have as much. Anyways, I just finished up my french dark chocolate sea salt bar. If I do have candy, it will be tiny pieces and it won't be any I bought.

Moving on now...

Second resolution I still need to work on, but it is very difficult to stop myself before I react badly to stupid trivial things like how the dishes are done by other people or when I am interrupted from what I am doing.

I have just started picking up on doing my artwork again! I got a painting done in one day, and it happened to be on a bad day. They say your worst times can produce your best work.

My writing however, I really need to get back on track, and it doesn't help that I've started on a role playing game called Game of Thrones Ascent. But I vow to finish my stories because I hate when I find great stories that turn out to be incomplete.

As for moving out...not gonna happen for me anytime soon. But...my sister and her husband will be trying to move as well as my nephew, so at least we'll have more room and my parents will be able to go on more vacations while I stay behind to look after the house. But I do need to plan in case the inevitable happens in the future. I did start a savings account, so at least I have that going. I just need to make deposits more often.

I actually met this last resolution recently! I got my room clean and organized enough to be able to get it clean instantly when thing begin to pile up or is out of place. I do have things on my dresser, but I can easily clear it off. But I'll make sure to remember to do a pre-holiday fall clean-up.

And there we have it! I shall check again on New Years eve and see if I am still on track of these or at least do better on the ones I need to do still.
