Obviously I've got nothing else to talk about but the weather. Today's was crazy! It was very hot earlier today, then later on, we finally got rain, lots of it! It was literally pouring! We also had thunder and lightning, the most we ever had out here. A small town nearby called Littlerock got 20 lightning strikes in a row!
It was so bad, that we were informed not to use anything electronic , because of the level of danger with this thunderstorm. Now I know why they say not to use the computer either. It survived a power surge, but I should've known better, I could've been electricuted. Some good came out of not using any electronics, I finally got around to practicing my guitar again. I only practiced one song today, which was Until It Sleeps by Metallica. It's a song off the album Load. I'm getting better at it too, and soon I will start practicing Who songs. Well! Looks like I did find something else to talk about after all! I keep you updated on guitar practice, and no more weather reports!

Hi Metalchick,
we're melting here too, but it's great!
Hope you're doing well.
Cheers,

STOP MOANING ABOUT THE WEATHER!!!
Hi! I've just been catching up on your blog. Yeah, it has been scorching here too, 100+, too hot. Sorta like that pic of Roger. Been trying to keep the dogs cool mostly. Have a good weekend. Keep practicing those Who songs!! x Grace
Glad you got some practice time in! Have a great weekend!
Metalchick:
I saw on the news that your area got popped with lightning yesterday afternoon (Thursday)... over 800 times in a short period. We have only had the clouds, here. The big stuff was sent your way.
My Dad lived in Palmdale for about a year, before our family moved to this side of the mountains in 1957. He remembers the desert life. There was REALLY nothing out there, then. I once spent a whole night and day wandering around Lancaster while waiting for Space Shuttle mission number nine to land at Edwards AFB.
I do prefer it here, "down the hill".

It's supposed to be 115 here today!!
Now pick up your guitar and play, just like yesterday!!!
Your storms sound amazing! I love a real cracker of a thunder storm. Good for you to practise your guitar though! Hope you manage to keep it up..love, Val
When the weather is this bad we all talk about it! It's too hot here...I'm off to find ice, I hope tomorrow is a cooler day...I'm praying for rain! :)

Hi Chick
...I see you've changed your look again!
It's 7:30 pm & the temperature reads 35 C in the shade... whew - stinking hot.
No thunderstorms thank goodness - the forest fire hazard is extreme.
I am learning to play the bass. My husband has a studio Fender bass & is giving me lessons. Help! I need longer fingers! lol
Have a great weekend.
:)

Anne-Marie,
I'm doing great! I went swimming earlier, which was nice despite the warm water.
Delbut,
Read the bottom of my post! I said that this is the last weather report I'm doing. I'm not the only one complaining!
Grace,
Oh yeah! Roger's always scorching hot! I think I should post up his picture again on the coldest winter day! I'm also trying to keep my pets cool. I'll get to those songs, but my fingers hurt!
Green Eyes,
Thanks! You have a great weekend too!
Dan L,
We sure had a lot of lightning, did some major damage. About Palmdale & Lancaster, there's a lot more out her now. More houses are being built and more Big-Box businesses too, yet it still sucks living here. Lucky You! for living "down the Hill"
Stradasphere,
90 degrees is bad enough! Today I played my guitar like yesterday, and my fingers hurt! I'm still gonna play tomorrow like I did today.
Vallyp,
As long as I know that the sounds are coming, it doesn't scare me as much. I'll try to keep up with practice.
Marymoo,
I hope you get rain too.
Dale,
Every friday, the picture changes, but I still have the other one up on my post for all us ladies to look at. ;) Keep practicing that Bass! Keep cool this weekend!
It's nice to be here in San Francisco, where it's always Cooler and there's no Thunder, Lightning, and Heavy Rain!
Stinkin hot here with thunderstorms too. And HUMID! Ugh. I am assuming you didn't plug in your guitar! LOL
Hello dear. Thanks for popping by my blog. You can post about the weather all you like. It's been hot as hell everywhere. People are going a little nutty. ;-)
I will check out your video blog when I get a chance.
Lots of Love,
-Natalie
Best of luck with the guitar practice! I remember the first few times are so hard on the fingers. Stick with it - it will get easier and easier. I am by no means any good. However, it is the greatest form of therapy I have ever come across. You will always be grateful you can play a few chords at the very least, I can promise you that. I have hardly any regrets at all in my life, but the biggest one for me is not carrying on with piano lessons when I was a kid. I rebelled, wanted to play hockey and football and really didn't have the patience. Music has always been a focal point of my life, so this is now the BIGGEST regret for me - so stick with it Metalchick!
Also, you can get a power surge protector for your computer and other electrical devices. It is easy and relatively cheap. If this is a concern pick one up. I know someone who saved their computer because of it (and another who's computer was blown out because they didn't have one!)
I took some time out the last couple of days for guitar practice as well. No time in the summer for it!
That's one thing I never learned to do though, I always wished I had learned to play other peoples music. I'm hopeless about it. I always re-write the song before I'm done learning it!
We finally did it, the environment is so whacked out that even England is not so rainy and cold anymore...in fact its a crazy heatbox here :0
Was thinking about you when I was playing 'Holy Diver' and 'Flight of Icarus' it just doesnt get any better!

Hi, thanks for the comment, yes the crabs are delicious! We had a big storm on Saturday morning, thunder, lightening and rain that bounced off the pavemant, but not I imagine as violent as yours. By early afternoon though it had passed and we attended a BBQ in the evening in fine weather. Mark is learning to play the guitar and has just had his second lesson! It all sounds a bit twangy at the moment but he is improving...
Take care J
Hey MChick,
People think it's global warming that is causing the heat, but we know it's the because the fucking who are on tour! Watch out for the heat wave in Vancouver, Portland, and Seattle in October.
Thanks for stopping by the blog,
ozzie
Hey Metalchick! Did you ever make it into my blog? Sorry but I approved it long after I got home from CA and Vegas! It was 118 degrees in the Mojavi when we drove through it. NUTS!!
My husband and I LOVE Metallica!
It's very hot indeed :s
Over here, in Belgium, too.
It's nice but I don't like it for long, and it's for over 21 days here. Well anyway. See ya soon!
Greets Elke!
