I wish I had taken a picture of this sooner, but I have finally gotten around to it. This is the only tattoo I have so far. It is Audioslave's flame logo. Anyone who knows me knows that Audioslave are one of my favorite bands, one of the reasons why I got this tattoo, but this tattoo has much more meaning than being a symbol of my favorite band. It marks a time in my life when I was happy, before things went wrong, and it reminds me of the times I was getting to know the band. The first time I noticed that band was when I saw the music video for their first single "Cochise". At first I had no idea that three of the members were in band Rage Against the Machine and that their lead singer Chris Cornell was in Soundgarden. I remember seeing the music video with all the fireworks in it, how good they played, and hearing how loud they were, and that's when I became a fan. When I saw their flame logo, I just knew that I had to get a tattoo of it someday. Then Lollapalooza was brought back after a five year haitus and Audioslave were on the bill. Not only did I get to see them live, but beforehand, I got to meet their guitarist Tom Morello and get two autographs from him! I remember when I was in line to meet him, I saw a guy with a flame logo tattoo, but his was bigger and had color. I planned on mine only being in black ink. Finally about a year since I first thought of it, I finally get the ink done. The tattoo artist was an ex boyfriend of my then best friend's cousin (I hope I didn't confuse you guys!) Anyways, it was done in his backyard, but take note that he used to work for a shop which meant that he's trained and licensed. I know that some of you would think that this is not completely safe, but I made extra sure that he opened up a brand new needle and used the ink from disposable wells. One thing I would never do is let some amateur do a tattoo the way they're done in prisons, that is unsafe! Anyways, I gave him the cover of Audioslave's album to use for a template and therefore, the tattoo is the actual size of the picture on the album cover. I think he did a really good job.
I can't wait to get my next tattoo! which is going to be a Who tattoo. I still have to decide on a design. I want it to be something different, yet something that will let people know that I am a Who fan. Of course this tattoo will also symbolize this time of The Who. When I do get inked, it will be in a shop, one: because I don't have my connection to the tattooist who did my first tattoo, and two: even though it will be more expensive, at least it will be safe. Hopefully I can get this done before the Who concert so I can show Pete & Roger.

YUPPIIII! (is that right???)
How COOOOL!
Loved it!
I'm still thinking on what I should tattoo on me but you couldn't get it better! I really loved it!
That's fab.
I want to get one. I'm thinking of getting a lyric or something...but that's the only problem with me. My fave Who song changes all the time so i may love a lyric one day, but have another fave the next. And it's not as though i can rub the tattoo out lol
Very cool! I go back and forth on whether to get inked or not...it would be cool to have Pete autograph my arm and have it tatooed over!
Long Live Rock!
Man who falls in vat of molten optical glass makes spectacle of self.
Hello!
I like it.
Welcome to my life, tatoo!
Cool tat, my dear. I'm too chicken.
I absolutely LOVE THE WHO! I have FOREVER LOVED the MODDY BLUES in my life. But...
...Never wanted a tatoo.
I grew up under the aftermath of WW II vets, Korean War, and lived Vietnam. The reasons and needs for tats were many, for those that went there. All of the great Rock History has happened in my life...I have never wanted a tatoo. Too many folks told me, "Bad idea". I have noticed, and agree.
I also like my normal body, though older, and sloppy it may be.
You are a cool person, as I can see. Be the best you can be. Be wise. That is my message. Carry on, and do your best!
Great blog you have, great heart you show too!
Gonna be COLD this weekend, no?

Personally, I odn't think tattoos are good ideas, but do whatever you people want.
Great tat!
...I'm showing my age, but take care on what you get next. It takes a good deal of money to remove them and you don't want something ink'd you'll regret later.
Hey everyone,
Thanks for your comments! If anyone is thinking about getting any tattoo, keep thinking about it until you're 100% sure you want it. Whenever I get a certain design idea, I think about it for a year to know if I still like it. To all the young kids thinking about getting a tattoo, you really have to wait a long time. What you like now may or may not be what you like in the future.
I have Audioslave's video up on my video blog. In case anyone forgot where you can find it, here's the address: http://audioslavewomanvideos.blogspot.com
Cool tattoo Metalchick. I really like tattoos that are unique, which is what yours is. Let me know what Who one you're thinking of getting.
Hey, Metalchick! Great tatt! I hope you're doing well. I agree with you, tattoos have to have meaning behind them. Stay well!
Hi Chick, I like the flame very much. Never wanted a tattoo myself as I'm scared of needles and also of what it would look like when I'm eighty odd - all wrinkly and loose - not a pretty image in my mind..lol. Having said that, some of them are beautiful and very tasteful, so each to his own.
My daughter has a big dragon on her back just above her bikini line!
Cool tattoo :) (In descending order of greatness....) My dad is a tattooist (has been for about 25 years) so is my uncle, and half brother and cousins husbands brother lol. I have a tattoo of a blue lightning bolt on my right arm, I got it when I was 16 and now I want it lasered off!!! It just doesnt go with my corporate midtwenties sensible mother look ha ha but I have a tribal on the bottom of my back I got when I was 18 which really really hurt but I love it!!! :)
Very cool tat!
I have a friend who is an excellent tattoo artist...I am toying with the idea...maybe on my lower back.
We'll see.
Something Whoey fer sure.
I would like a daisy somewhere too.
Take care!

Great tattoo!!!
Tattoos are so much more than just ink or a drawing....you'll know when it's time for the next one....just keep location in mind.....it hurts more in certain areas....
Hey, wicked tat. I've been a fan of both Soundgarden (and most grunge) plus RATM since they formed. Back when I was a mere teen I got a chance to see Soundgarden's first UK gig. It was huge!
Years later I saw RATM at a rock festival and they blew me away.
To put a great singer with outrageously talented and experimental musicians has unleashed a brilliant band. I've not been lucky enough to see Audioslave yet, but I have seen The Who and they rock.
So, I hope to see Audioslave soon and I bet you'll enjoy The Who concert when it rolls around.
And, if you're gonna get a new tattoo, why not design one yourself? It will certainly be personal and no one else will have one like it and then find a person lovely enough to pop it on your body.
Catch you soon
purplesimon out...
very cool TATTOO!!!
kisses,
Tecla.
I don't have any tatoos, haven't really thought of getting one, but if I did, it would likely have something to do with our beloved Who, or guitars, or something musical.
As long as they are done right, and have a meaning, which yours does. So, fab! Good on ya!
I'm really too scared to get a tattoo. Plus there's the thing, what if I come to regret the tattoo I chose or simply get bored with it?
Your tattoo is super cool, though. Very stylish, and a good story behind it too.
I love your tattoo! Good choice, I think! :)
Hey,I wouldn't mind seeing a closer shot of it, for the detailing and color.
So is it really true about the Hotel Cafe, Metal? The Attic? Where did you get this info? Email me if you want. :)
