Right now VH1 rocks! because it's Metal Month. I've been watching the specials they've been airing such as the 100 Most Shocking Moments in Rock & Roll and Metallica's Some Kind of Monster. I recommend this movie to anyone, despite what their favorite bands are because it shows the ups and downs that Metallica go through and what their lives are like off stage, which I think relates to what other bands go through. Speaking of rock movies, I want to thank everyone who told me where to find Quadrophenia on DVD. I will be sure to get it as soon as I can afford it.

Hi Metal...Chick...I don't know your name so what do you prefer?
Thank you for visiting my blog.
I first saw your comment about the kids in the mud - very true. I'd rather my kids go out, have fun & ruin their clothes than stay in & watch TV or play video games.
I don't really call myself an artist, because I am far too inexperienced - I don't do it enough. But I do love writing & I do that a lot - especially on my blog, so maybe I can consider myself an artist in that category.
I think you're right about music being a "muse". It certainly inspires me!
I did my first human portrait of Keith Moon because I love The Who. I have photos of the drawings in previous posts on my blog.
I do like Metallica, too. I was listening to them just this evening - our FM Classic Rock station is playing the California bands this weekend...
My favourite metal band is AC/DC, if you haven't noticed. I consider Angus my alter ego, even though I don't play guitar. I sincerly hope he's not offended. LOL
My husband plays, though & we have a housefull of guitars - Fender Strat, Fender bass, Fender acoustic, Ibenez 6-string...an electronic keyboard, harmonica & 2 recorders...I can play a bit of piano by ear, a mean harmonica & the recorder. I just don't have time to do it on a regular basis.
eg. 3 kids...
I will quit this long comment now, but I seem to have a case of verbal diarrhea. Please forgive me.

Hi Dale,
Writing is good too. I'm attempting to write a fan fiction story. I also did a drawing of The Who, I should put it up. Anyways, I'm so glad I found someone who likes The Who and Metallica. I've been listening to Both of these groups back-to-back and I noticed that Roger Daltrey and James Hetfield have the same vocal range. They could probably sing each others songs.
Hi Metal Chick,
I'm happy for you that school's out- we have a few more weeks left to go.
It is nice here and I am looking forward to the summer. I'll be in California for the month of August, looking forward to reconnecting with friends and family there.
I hope you're enjoying your vacation.
Cheers,
AM
Hello,It is all about the METAL!
Nice to see James Hetfield being so open these days, I always thought he was cool.
Hi Chick
Please do post the drawing of The Who!
:)

Well, the only thing I can contribute to 'Metal Week' is a piece of music I've been working called 'Pigment' and while it doesn't have a guitar in it, and it's more classical than rock, the piano is extremely metallic. Hopefully I'll be able to post it in a couple of days.
I read somewhere that the guitarist in Metallica (I think) studied classical music. I thought that was cool. But it was a long time ago and maybe I remember it wrong.
Alas, I fear metal isn't my cup of tea, though I like some experimental metal like Tool to some extent. And Kyuss (what's it called, desert metal?) is kind of cool.
The Metallica movie is supposed to be good, though.
Ticharu,
I'm not sure if Kirk Hammett, the guitarist of Metallica, learned classical music, but I do know that he was taught by Joe Satriani. However, there was a guitarist who did study classical music. His name is Randy Rhoads, the guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne, until he was killed, RIP.
e.l. wisty,
That's cool, everyone likes different genres of music. It's better to be yourself than to pretend to like something just to fit in. I like Tool too, I have yet to get their new album.
